KINDERGARTEN: Kindergarten students participated in environmental lessons focusing on composting and how composting helps the environment.
Spring 2016: Kindergarten students participated in environmental lessons on the benefits of composting. They recorded journal entries about how they created the compost and used it to benefit the bulbs they planted in the small Kindergarten beautification area.
FIRST GRADE: For the last two years, the First Grade team has visited the Hazel Outdoor Discovery Center. Students have documented the seasonal changes through art and writing at the facility, participated in habitat clean-up during nature walks, and have participated in Environmental lessons on pond and forest habitats.
Fall 2016: First Grade students on one of their three annual trips to Hazel Outdoor Discovery Center. On each visit, students make observations, which they record in their science journals, go on a nature walk and collect trash they find.
